Titanic

At 2:40am on the 15^th of April 1912 the Titanic sunk to the bottom of the sea. At the time Titanic was on her way to New York. Disaster struck when the ship hit an ice-berg with 2,214 crew and passengers on board. Tragically only 705 people were saved. There are many events organised around the country to remember those who died. 2208 passengers boarded the ship only 705 survived (1503 died). There were 163 Irish passengers on board. 112 perished and only 51 survived. Out of the 12 from Galway 9 perished and 3 survived. This year marks the 100^th year memorial of the people who died on board the Titanic. Our class did a creative writing project on the Titanic.
