Biodiversity

  All Living Things around our school together make Biodiversity rule.


This year the Green School Committee, pupils and staff of Killeeneen school are working on the fifth theme 'Biodiversity' in the Green Schools programme. (http://www.greenschoolsireland.org/themes/biodiversity.198.html)

  • Visit from Susan O'Donoghue - Bird Watch Ireland: Power point presentation to students followed by a field trip to the Tourlough, 17th Dec, 2013.

On Friday the 11th April pupils from 3rd and 4th class planted the vegetatble school garden.  In turn they planted cabbage, onions, beetroot, cauliflower, peas and lettuce.

On Thursday 23rd January 3rd and 4th class visited the bug hotel.  They found, Woodlice, snails and a centipede.

COW Day

On Thursday 20th June we held our second COW Day for the school year 2012/2013, it was our most successful COW day yet, with over 120 pupils cycling to school!



Bug Hotel

Pupils in 1st class worked on constructing a bug hotel with their teacher Mrs. Gohery on Thursady 30th May.


Tree Planting

On Wednesday the 7th of November the Green School Committee along with 4th class planted a tree on the schools grounds on National Tree Day.







4th Green Flag
 Mrs Siobhán Kelleher, Patrick Martin and Daniel O'Reilly from our school were presented with the 4th Green Flag Award for 'Travel' on the 24th May 2012.

An Coiste Glas 

The committee directs the operations of the school’s Green-Schools programme. The Green-Schools committee is student led. This years committee members are -
