Dúlra Photography Competition

This month our school is entering the ‘’Dúlra Photography Competition’’.To enter you must take a photo to capture the beauty of Kinvara, Ballinderreen or Clarinbridge.

The project titled Dúlra (Irish for nature and natural environment), aims to open our eyes to the wonderful landscape and seascape that surrounds us in the three seaside parishes of South Galway -Kinvara, Ballinderreen, and Clarinbridge.

There are two main themes for the photographs:

1. Features of our Natural environment

2. Activities involving the care and preservation of our environment

 There will be awards in these categories: Under 12 years of age,12 to 18 years of age, Adults and a Special Merit Award.Closing date for the competition is the 30^th of April 2012. All entries will be on view http://envlandphoto.posterous.com

Easter Quiz Competition Results

Congratulations to Daniel Gardiner and Hannah Bergin who each won an Easter egg in our Easter Quiz Competition.

Confirmation

On the 19^th of April, 6^th class made their Confirmation in Clarinbridge Church. At 3pm everybody came to the church with their families for the ceremony. Bishop Drennan and Father Murphy concelebrated mass. 4^th and 5^th class sang in the choir and they sang beautifully. Thank you to all the teachers for preparing the choir for the Confirmation, we really appreciate the effort. After about an hour the ceremony finished and 6^th class were confirmed. Everybody took pictures with friends, family and with the Bishop. When all the pictures were done everybody went to celebrate their Confirmation at home. Thank you to Ms O’Callaghan for preparing us for the Confirmation. 

School Vegetable Garden

Before the Easter holidays we started gardening with Mr. Dolan.  At first they were very small but they grew a lot over the Easter holidays. In particular our peas and lettuce are growing very well. The lettuce is nearly ready for picking. We will keep you updated about our garden!
