Our book fair took place from the 11th to the 15th of October. We had loads of great books! We had adventure books, spooky books, Irish books, fiction books, fact books, sporty books and many, many more. Even the Scottish author Johnny O’Brien visited the school. He talked to us about World War І and what inspired him to write. Ms. Gohery and Mags co-ordinated all the events which were a great success!

Up Da Bridge
The Bridge is going for it’s second Senior Hurling title; winning their first in 2001. Micheal Donoghue who is a past pupil of K.N.S was the captain in 2001, he is now the manager of the senior team. His brother Liam plays in goal. They are uncles of Shane Donoghue in fifth class and Michael Donoghue in second class. Alan Armstrong is another past pupil; he is a sub on the senior team and has a brother Shane Armstrong in sixth class.
We wish them the best in the county final!
Hurling Mini 7’s
On the 6th of October Killeeneen took part in a seven a-side hurling competition in Clarinbridge GAA pitch. It was a dry and damp morning but it cleared as the day moved on. The first team we played was Gaelscoil de hÍde. Then we played Cregmore and made it to the final and met Clarinbridge. We won the final and now are through to the next round of the competition. Everybody played their heart out and it paid off. Sam Mc Ardle was captain on the brilliant day.
Camogie Mini 7s
On the 13th of October Killeeneen N.S entered the 7 a-side camogie
competition in Clarinbridge. It was a cold and foggy morning.
In our first game we played Kinvara and won on a score line of 4-5 to 0-0. In the second match, which was the semi final, we played Northampton and won well. After winning both these games we got into the final in which we played Maree N.S. It was a tough match but we won well in the end. On the day the captain was Carrie Dolan. The County finals will be played in spring; hopefully we will bring home some silver ware!!!
