Our 3-D shapes

This week in our maths leason we made 3-D shapes. A 3-D shape is a three dimensional shape.A 3-D shape has edges and sides and vertices .For exsample  a cube and a cubiod and a tetrahedron they are all 3-D shapes . In the shape tetrahedron tetra is Greek for four. You can make a tetrahedron from a empty  crisps bag you will need  sticky tape pull the middle points at the front and back of the open end of the bag away from each other until the bag closes seal with the sticky  tape .Crease the edges from corner to corner to make a shape of a tetrahedron.

Friendship week 2015

This week we are celebrating all of the wonderful things we do in school to be good friends to others. We had a special assembly this morning and read a wonderful book called 'Have you filled a Bucket today?' Look out for our next blog post where we will fill you in on all of the wonderful activities we are doing this week!!

     De Bono’s Thinking Hats

All over the school we learned about Professor De Bono’s thinking hats. 

White: The white thinking hat means the facts stated in front of you, and not opinionated guesses. 

Blue : The blue thinking hat means to use your intellectual intent and think logically about the situation and question the little factors of a scenario. 

Black : the black hat means to take caution when assessing a scenario and to search for all the negatives or downsides to a situation. 

Red : the red thinking hat symbolises feelings and thinking about things concerning the feelings you , or others have on the situation or scenario. 

Yellow: the yellow hat means positivity towards an ad or thing, highlighting the good points about it or the interesting facts that may entice the readers into buying the product, or maybe inspires them to be more positive towards their life in general! 

Green: The green thinking hat displays creativity, and is the hat in which you are given to express your own individual opinion a subject or two.

Reminiscing on Term 1 Sport

Camogie Mini 7s!!!

In September 2014 the Killeeneen camogie team, went to Clarinbridge for the mini 7s.The team consisted of Caoimhe Kennedy, Alice McMahon, Megan Anderson, Niamh Niland, Sophia Brennan, Isabelle Coleman and Eve Cloonan. The subs were Eabha Niland, Holly Keogh, Laura Hayes, Fiona Gallaus and Anna Molloy. Ms. Cooney and Ms. O ‘Callaghan were our managers and were assisted by Anna Kilduff on the day.

Firstly we played Oranmore, we won that game 2-5 to no score. Niamh Niland and Sophia Brennan were our scorers in that game. In the 2^nd game we played Ardrahan; unfortunately we lost this game, the score was 3-1 to  0-2. In our last game we played Maree we won that game 2-1 to 1-1 but unfortunately we didn’t win our group. We had a great day and hopefully next year the girls will do us justice.

Hurling Mini Sevens 2014/2015

On Thursday the 25^th of September 2014 our team of Luke Forde, Luke Clark, Luke Spelman, Christopher Brennan, Phelim McCann, Michael Donoghue, Luke Martyn, Colin Coughnihan, Darragh Mullins, Cathal Kennedy took part in the mini 7's. We played Coolarne and we bet them. Then we played Bullaun and finally we played a team we don’t know the name of they wore a blue jersey. We hammered them. Unfortunately we didn't get out of the group. Leaving us to go home.
